Justice Dalveer Bhandari, B.A., LL.M. - Born on 1st October, 1947, Graduated in Humanities and in Law from the Jodhpur University, Rajasthan . On an International Scholarship did Master of Laws from the Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. Also worked for about two years with the Northwestern Legal Assistance Clinic and appeared in Chicago Courts on behalf of the said clinic.

On an International Fellowship visited Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Sri Lanka for observational-cum-lecture tour of Legal Aid and Clinical Legal Educational Programs associated with the law courts and universities.

Worked on an international project "Delay in the Administration of Criminal Justice in India" sponsored by United Nations. Enrolled as an advocate in 1968 with the Bar Council of Rajasthan and began a professional career in the Rajasthan High Court and practiced in Civil, Criminal and Constitutional branches of Law and later on shifted to Delhi in the year 1977 to practice in the Supreme Court of India. From 1977 till elevation, practiced in the Supreme Court On Civil, Criminal, Constitutional and Commercial branches of law.

Functioned as Standing Counsel for the State of U.P in the Supreme Court Of India, incharge of entire criminal work from 1982 until elevation. Also functioned as an arguing counsel on the Senior Panel of the Union of India in the Supreme Court. Represented Union of India in many important enquiry commissions. Aruged a large number of important cases in the Supreme Court and in various High Courts of the country.

Elevated as an Additional Judge in High Court of Delhi on 19th March , 1991 and confirmed on 23rd January, 1992.

Functioned as a Chairperson, Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee for a number of years.

Functioned for number of years as a Chairman of the Advisory Boards, Delhi State, under the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974, Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980, Punjab Security of State Act, 1953 and the National Security Act, 1980.

Nominated by the Patron-in-Chief (Chief Justice of India) of the National Legal Services Authority as a member of the editorial boards for its important publication "Nyaya Deep".

Nominated as an Executive Member of the International Law Association India Chapter by the Supreme Court of India. Functioned as a Chairperson of the Delhi Center of the International Law Association.

Visited Auckland (New Zealand) as a Key Note Speaker of International Conference organised by the United Nations on "Intellectual Property."

Appointed as Chief Justice of High Court of Judicature at Bombay on 25th July, 2004.
