Honourable Mr. Ramanlal Maneklal Kantawala, was elevated as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court on 27th October, 1972 . His Lordship was born on 6th October, 1916 and was educated at the Cambay High School, Gujarat College, Ahmedabad; Elphinstone College and the Government Law College, Bombay.His Lordship enrolled as an Advocate of the Bombay High Court on the Appellate Side in September, 1941 and on the Original Side of the Bombay High Court in September, 1943. His Lordship practised mostly on the Original Side of the Bombay High Court. His Lordship was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Bombay for two years from 9th February,1962 and later appointed as a Permanent Judge from 6th February, 1964. His Lordship retired as Chief Justice on the 6th October, 1978.
