Honourable Shri Bisheshwar Prasad Singh was appointed as the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court on 31st March 2000.His Lordship was born on 9th July 1942. Studied at St. Xavier's School, Patna and St. Columbia's School, New Delhi. Passed his Senior Cambridge Examination in 1958 in 1st Division. Studied at Hindu College Delhi University. Passed B.A.(Hons.) in 1961 securing 1st position in First Class and in 1963 secured L.L.B degree from Delhi University. Enrolled as an Advocate on 4th October 1963 and practised during the period 1963-87 in Supreme Court of India on Civil, Criminal and Constitutional side. Was appointed as Judge of Patna High Court on 9th March 1987 and was transferred to the Karnataka High Court on 9th April 1990, was re-transferred from Karnataka High Court to Patna High Court on 9th September 1991. Was elevated as Chief Justice of High Court of Bombay on 31st March 2000 . His Lordship was elevated as Judge, Supreme Court of India on 14th December 2001.
