  CHIEF JUSTICE MR. ANANDAMOY BHATTACHARJEE  CHIEF JUSTICE MR. ANANDAMOY BHATTACHARJEE

Honourable Mr. Anandamoy Bhattacharjee succeeded Hon'ble Mrs. Sujata V. Manohar as the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court in 1994.

His Lordship was born on 20th December, 1933 and was educated at Siliguri Boys School, Siliguri, St. Paul's College, Calcutta, Scottish Church College, Calcutta and University College of Law, Calcutta. His Lordship enrolled as an Advocate of the Calcutta High Court (A.S.). on 7th January 1957 and as an Advocate of the Calcutta High Court (O.S.) on 16th January 1957. His Lordship practised on Civil and Criminal in the District Courts of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri in West Bengal and at Gangtok in Sikkim. His Lordship worked as Legal Adviser to Government of Sikkim from May 1972 and as the Advocate General of Sikkim from June 1975. His Lordship was the Chairman, Law Commission of Sikkim. His Lordship was appointed as Judge, Sikkim High Court from 16th June, 1976. His Lordship was appointed as Acting Chief Justice, Sikkim High Court from 4th January 1985. His Lordship was transferred as Judge, Calcutta High Court from 3rd February 1986 and was the Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court from 15th June 1992. His Lordship was made the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court from 25th January 1993 and was transferred as the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court on 21st April,1994 . Was in Office till 1-4-1995.
