Joined as Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Judicial Magistrate, First Class, in Madhya Pradesh State on 15th November, 1950. On reorganisation of States in 1956, absorbed in Maharashtra Judicial Service. Acted Civil Judge (Junior Division) until 8th March, 1961. Appointed Assistant Legal Adviser, Union Ministry of Law, on 8th March, 1961; promoted as Deputy Legal Adviser in 1964 and held that post till 1968. Worked as Chief Legal Adviser to Central Bureau of Investigation. Worked as Additional Legal Adviser at Calcutta during 1968 to 1970, and as Arbitrator, Ministry of Works and Housing, from 1970 to 1972. Promoted Joint Secretary and Legal Adviser from February 1974. Upto November 1976, heard revision applications under the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act, 1957 and Mineral Concession Rules, 1960 and Appeals under the Press and Registration of Books Act, 1967. Officiated as Chairman, Foreign Exchange Regulation Appellate Board, from July 1977 to November 1979 worked as Joint Secretary and Legal Adviser and gave advice to Union Ministries, particularly Home and Personnel. Appointed Members of Foreign Exchange Regulation Appellate Board, in November, 1979 and then as Additional Secretary in Laws Commission. Promoted as Member Secretary of Law Commission on 1st October 1981. Appointed Law Secretary to Government of India from 13th August 1982. Appointed Additional Judge, Bombay High Court on 8th July, 1983 and Permanent Judge on 28th November, 1983. Retired on 15th March, 1988. |
