Justice Arvind Vinayakrao Savant, B.Com., LL.M. : Born on 17-9-1938. Enrolled as an Advocate on 8-1-1960 and practised on the Appellate Side of the Bombay High Court. Worked as a Part Time Professor of Law from 1970 to 1976. Appointed as Public Prosecutor and Assistant Government Pleader on the Appellate Side of the Bombay High Court from 1974 to 1977. Counsel on the Panel of Central Government Advocates. Appointed as the Advocate General of Maharashtra on 12-3-1982 and resigned that post on 6-1-1987. Appointed as Special Counsel for the Government of Maharashtra for the Original Side and Appellate Side Writ Matters in the Bombay High Court on 1-11-1988. Appointed an Additional Judge of that High Court from 30-7-1990 and a permanent Judge from 3-10-1991. Appointed as Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on 30-5-2000. Retired on 17-9-2000.
