Justice Thakur Das Sugla, B.A., LL.B. : Born on 8-5-1929. Enrolled as an Advocate of the Calcutta High Court in 1954 and started practice on the Appellate Side in that High Court. Though between 1954 and 1966 mainly appeared in Income-tax matters before the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal and the High Court at Calcutta. Appointed a Judicial Member of the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal in April 1967 and posted at Allahabad and Calcutta. Appointed as the Vice-President of the Tribunal and was posted in Bombay from 1975 to 1979. Became the President of the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal, Bombay, since 1-1-1980. Appointed Additional Judge on 24-6-1986 and Permanent Judge on 9-12-1986. Retired on 8-5-1991.
