Justice Dattatray Ganesh Gatne, B.A., (Hons.) LL.B. : Born 28th February, 1910. Educated Ahmednagar Education Society's High School, Ahmednagar; Ferguson College, Poona; Law College, Poona. Enrolled District Pleader on 11th September, 1933 at Ahmednagar. Did both Civil and Criminal work in the mofussil Courts in Ahmednagar District, and Civil and Criminal Appellate work in the District and Session Court at Ahmednagar. Government Service since September 1940. Civil Judge, J.D. in (1) Poona, (2) Deograh, Ratnagiri District, (3) Rahuri Kopargaon, Ahmednagar District, (4) Bhusaval, Jalgaon District, and (5) Kolhapur. From 1952 to 1958 Assistant Judge and Additional Sessions Judge in the Districts of Poona, Belgaum Nasik and Thana. Promoted District Judge in September 1958. Joint Judge, Ahmedabad from 1958 to April 1960, District and Sessions Judge, Nasik from May 1960 to December 1960. Judge City Civil and Sessions Court, Bombay from December 1960 to June 1961. Registrar of the High Court, Bombay from 1st July 1961 to June 1963. District and Sessions Judge, Nasik from 19th June 1963 to 31st January 1968. Appointed Additional Judge, High Court at Bombay from 1st February, 1968 for a period of one year. Appointed Permanent Judge on 8th August, 1968. Retired on 28th February 1972.
