Shri. S. M. GAVHANEB.A.(Hons.), LL.M. 2017-2020 Justice Shri Sopan M. Gavhane was born on 2nd June, 1958. Completed school education from School of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha at Pohegaon, Taluka - Kopargaon, District - Ahmednagar. Graduated from Sangamner College, District - Ahmednagar. Did Graduation in Law from N.B.T. Law College, Nashik in 1982 and completed LL.M. from the Department of Law, Pune University in 1984. Started practice in both Civil and Criminal sides in the Courts at Ahmednagar after enrollment as an Advocate on 28th June, 1984. Simultaneously worked as Honorary Lecturer in New Law College, Ahmednagar for the academic years 1985-86 to 1989-90. Joined judicial servIce on 9th August, 1990 as Civil Judge, Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate, First Class and posted at Buldhana. Promoted as Civil Judge, Senior Division in June, 2000. In March, 2002, promoted as Additional District Judge and worked at Shahada, District - Nandurbar (then Dhule), Baramati, District - Pune and Kolhapur. Worked as Registrar (Personnel) and Registrar (Vigilance-II) & O.S.D., in the Registry of High Court of Judicature at Bombay, Appellate Side, Mumbai from 20th March, 2011 to 26th September, 2014. Then worked as Chairman, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Principal District Judge at Satara and Thane. Elevated as Additional Judge of Bombay High Court on 5th June, 2017. |
