Justice Shri Ashok Pitambar Bhangale was born on 19th September 1953 at Jalgaon. He did graduation in Arts and Law from Jalgaon (University Of Pune). He took Master's degree in Laws from Bombay University. He was Hindu Law Scholar, University of Pune, 1976. He was enrolled as an Advocate on 14th September 1977 and he joined Chambers of his illustrious Father Late Advocate Shri P.B. Bhangale and practiced on Civil and Criminal side. He served as a part-time Lecturer in Mercantile and Industrial Law at M.J. College, Jalgaon from August, 1980 till joining Judiciary.

He also worked as an Assistant Government Pleader and Additional Public Prosecutor from June, 1986 till joining Judiciary.

He joined Judiciary on 19th September, 1989 as a Judge of the Bombay City Civil Sessions Court at Mumbai and served as a Special Judge under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, 1999 and also as a Special Judge under the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2002, He also served as a Chairman of the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal and the State Transport Appellate Tribunal at Mumbai from May, 2006 till September 2006.

He was appointed as a Principal Secretary and R.L.A., Law and Judiciary Department, State Of Maharashtra and served as such from 26th September 2006 to 4th May 2007.

He was appointed as a Principal Judge of the Bombay City Civil and Sessions Court from May, 2007 till his elevation as a Judge of the Bombay High Court. He also served as a Chairman of the Brihanmumbai District Legal Service Authority.

He was elevated to Bombay High Court on 16/04/2008.

Retired on 19/09/2015.
