Justice Ashutosh Arvind Kumbhakoni, B.Sc., LL.B. : Born on 12th July 1959 in a family of Lawyers. Completed graduation at Solapur and Law graduation at ILS Law College Pune. On 6th Aug. 1982 enrolled with Bar Council. Practiced for about 10 years in the Solapur District, mainly in civil, co-operative and revenue courts. In the year 1992-93 started practice at Bombay High Court. Has conducted numerous matters involving mainly Constitutional and Administrative Law, Public Interest Litigations, Laws relating to Educational Activities, Revenue, Tenancy, Civil and Co-operative Laws, etc. Was appointed amicus in several matters of public importance involving complex legal issues. Has rendered assistance to large number of Division and Full Benches in answering references. Had represented State Government for about five years as 'A' Panel Counsel. Worked as the First Associate Advocate General of Maharashtra for more than three years since 1st April 2005. Was involved in drafting various Legislations. Has also addressed a joint meeting of both the Houses of State Legislature. Had been a part of core group formed by the National Judicial Academy - Bhopal and had been there on a couple of occasions as a 'Resource Person'. Has addressed number of State, National and International Seminars and Conferences. Has been regularly delivering lectures at Law Colleges as a guest lecturer. Participated in numerous legal aid activities while practising at Solapur District Court. Has conducted various camps in Rural Areas of Solapur District with the help of local NGOs/ Legal Aid Committees educating women and agriculturists on large scale as to their legal rights and obligations. Has been a panel member of Lok Adalats. Was one of the most sought after Mediators. Devoted maximum possible time for active mediation work without any remuneration. Not a Rotarian, but was selected by Rotary from amongst 22 Districts and was sent as an 'Ambassador Of India Of Goodwill And Friendship' to Argentina. Interacted with people from various walks of life including Lawyers and Judges at International level. Very fond of music. Had been a part of a musical group, which had been conducting public performances. Possesses and plays various musical instruments such as an Accordiona. Represented colleges as a leading player of Football, Hockey, Badminton and other teams. Has also won prizes in Photography.
