JUSTICE BHARAT P. DESHPANDEJUSTICE BHARAT P. DESHPANDE

Born on 7th December 1962 at Nagpur. Completed the schooling education in C.P. and Berar High School, Ravinagar, Nagpur. After completion of graduation from G.S. College of Commerce and LL.B. from University College of Law, at Nagpur, joined the Bar in the year 1987 and practiced as an advocate at Nagpur. Appeared in various courts, including High Court of Bombay, Bench at Nagpur, District Court, Labour and Industrial Courts etc.

Selected for the post of Civil Judge, Senior Division in Goa Judicial Service in the year 1996 and joined at Ponda, Goa.

Promoted to the post of Additional District Judge in the year 2002. Worked as Special Judge, N.D.P.S. Court, President - Children's Court, Registrar (Judicial), High Court of Bombay at Goa, Member Secretary, Goa State Legal Services Authority and President Wakf Tribunal.

Posted as the Principal District and Sessions Judge, North Goa, Panaji and joined on 7th April 2014 and worked at the said position till April, 2017. Was later transferred and posted as Principal District and Sessions Judge, South Goa w.e.f. April, 2017 to June, 2021. Transferred and posted as Principal District and Sessions Judge, North Goa w.e.f. June 2021 to June, 2022. Elevated as Additional Judge of Bombay High Court w.e.f. 6th June, 2022.

Has keen interest in sports like Basket Ball. Represented Nagpur University for three years in Basket Ball.
