He was born in Bombay in 1847 and
became Barrister in 1869 and came to Bombay in 1870 and started
practice in Bombay High Court. He used to go to England every
summer vacation from April to November. He stayed at Byculla
Club. He had fantastic memory, tenacity, courage and tact and had
large practice. He was a great lawyer and outstanding
Advocate. He died in Bombay in 1923 holding a brief to the last
day. His hobbies included playing bridge and hunting in
forest. He was the first Advocate in Bombay, who had full-Court
reference on his death and Bombay High Court was closed on the day of
his funeral.
