Shri Bisheshwar Prasad Singh was appointed as the Chief Justice
of Bombay High Court on 31st March 2000.His Lordship was born on 9th July 1942. Studied at St.
Xavier's School, Patna and St. Columbia's School, New Delhi. Passed
his Senior Cambridge Examination in 1958 in 1st Division. Studied at
Hindu College Delhi University. Passed B.A.(Hons.) in 1961 securing
1st position in First Class and in 1963 secured L.L.B degree
from Delhi University. Enrolled as an Advocate on 4th October 1963 and
practised during the period 1963-87 in Supreme Court of India on Civil,
Criminal & Constitutional side. Was appointed as Judge of Patna
High Court on 9th March 1987 and was transferred to the Karnataka High
Court on 9th April 1990, was re-transferred from Karnataka High Court
to Patna High Court on 9th September 1991. Was elevated as Chief
Justice of High Court of Bombay on 31st March 2000 . His
Lordship was elevated as Judge, Supreme Court of India on 14th
December 2001.
