Justice Balkrishna Narhar Deshmukh
, M.A., LL.B. : Born on 19th November 1918. Educated at Municipal
School, A.E. Society’s High School, Ahmednagar, Ferguson College and Indian
Law Society’s Law College, Poona. Enrolled as an Advocate on the Bombay
High Court on the 5th August 1941. Practised in Civil and Criminal
matters (Both Original and Appellate) at Ahmednagar. Joined the Judicial
Service as Assistant Judge on 12th April 1955 and worked in that capacity
till 14-10-1957. Functioned in various capacities like Joint Judge,
District and Sessions Judge and the Judge, City Civil Court. He was
appointed as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court. He was appointed
permanent Judge on 6th June 1967. Appointed as Chief Justice of the
High Court on 6th October 1978. Retired on 19th November 1980.
